Richard Ericsson Leads ABA Program on Brownfields Transactional Issues
Our partner Richard Ericsson, who currently Chairs the Environmental Transactions and Brownfields Committee of the ABA Section of Environment, Energy and Resources (SEER), presented a panel discussion on October 6, 2006. “Deal or No Deal: Brownfields Transactional Issues from the Redeveloper’s Perspective,” was offered at SEER’s 14th Section Fall Meeting. The program addressed a sampling of issues facing developers as they seek to redevelop contaminated urban sites, with a special focus on the types of issues which might arise when a change in existing land use is concurrent with redevelopment.
In his role as Chair, Richard’s goal is to develop programs and materials which both educate and inspire attorneys who practice environmental/transactional law. According to his comments in the Environmental Transactions and Brownfields Committee newsletter, he views the Committee “as a voice for environmental/transactional lawyers in the national debate on Brownfields Redevelopment issues, from our involvement in the negotiated rulemaking on EPA’s new All Appropriate Inquiry standard to our meetings with federal and state regulators on emerging issues.”
Richard is a director in our firm and a member of the Environmental & Brownfields practice group.
