Ann Waeger and John Reilly Speakers at ICSC 2006 Law Conference in Orlando, Florida

The International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC ), the global trade association of the shopping center industry, held its 2006 U.S. Shopping Center Law Conference from October 25-28, 2006.

Ann Waeger, a director of our firm and a renowned legal authority within the environmental insurance sector, lead a workshop on “The Critical Needs to Coordinate Indemnity and Insurance Provisions in Agreements”. The session highlighted problem areas such as misconceptions related to the protections afforded by contractual liability insurance and also explored the need for practical solutions in areas such as insurance requirements and appropriate risk allocation between parties to an agreement.

Our partner John Reilly, who chairs our Litigation & Condemnation practice group, addressed legislative initiatives under consideration on both federal and state levels in response to Kelo v. New London in his seminar on “Post-Kelo: Emerging Impacts and Issues in Eminent Domain”. The panel examined key considerations in the post-Kelo climate impacting takings for redevelopment and just compensation, as well as other issue related to the exercise of eminent domain.
