Climate Change Regulations on the Agenda for 2008 Environmental Law Forum

For the second consecutive year, Maura Blau participated in a presentation on Climate Change issues at the annual Environmental Law Forum Weekend, which was held on June 20-22 in Avalon, NJ. The program was co-sponsored by the NJSBA Environmental Law Section, NJICLE and the New Jersey Corporate Counsel Association. Ms. Blau, counsel in our firm, presented an overview of climate change legislation which included a discussion of the current impact and broader potential implications of New Jersey’s Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative Act (NJRGGI), which was signed into law by Governor John Corzine in early 2008. NJRGGI calls for the implementation of a CO2 emissions cap and trade program in New Jersey – DEP is expected to announce its rule proposal for this program in July 2008.
