Ann Waeger Speaks at Special EPA Headquarters Meeting, and at New Jersey DEP Conference, on Environmental Insurance

Our partner Ann Waeger spoke on environmental insurance at two special conferences in June 2006 organized by environmental agencies.

At the invitation of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (“EPA”) Office of Brownfields Cleanup and Redevelopment, Ann lectured on June 6 at a special EPA headquarters conference in Washington, D.C. open only to EPA personnel from around the nation.

At the conference, which focused on the ways in which private parties are using environmental insurance in redevelopment projects, Ann spoke on cleanup and redevelopment risk-management tools, the evolution of environmental insurance, and negotiation and claim issues.

It was the second time that Ann had been invited to speak at such an in-house EPA meeting.

At the invitation of New Jersey's Brownfield Redevelopment Task Force, Ann participated in a special statewide Environmental Insurance Symposium on June 21 and 22 at Rutgers University.

At the symposium, Ann addressed critical issues in acquisition and use of environmental insurance in brownfield redevelopment projects in New Jersey, and explored the potential for development and availability of statewide environmental insurance in New Jersey.
