Jay Jaffe to Speak at Philadelphia Brownfields Conference

Jay Jaffe, a director in our firm, will address the key components of “Negotiating Brownfields Contracts of Sale” at the American Conference Institute’s April 30 – May 1, 2007 conference on “Acquiring, Developing, and Disposing of Brownfields Sites.”

Jay will represent the Buyer’s interests in brownfields sale transactions when he co-presents the program with Andrew Davis of Leboeuf Lamb, who will represent the transactions from the Seller’s point of view. Their joint presentation will evaluate each party’s key requirements and concerns, and will then review tools which can bridge the gap between the Buyer and Seller’s interests – including creative PSA provisions, the remediation agreement, environmental insurance and management of liability risks. An exploration of the components of due diligence, and a review of post-closing considerations, will round out the program.

A member of our firm’s Environmental & Brownfields practice group, Jay is deeply experienced with guiding clients through complex projects involving acquisition, cleanup and redevelopment of brownfields sites. He writes and lectures regularly on environmental and brownfields issues.
