Susan C. Karp is a partner in the firm and a member of our Environmental & Brownfields practice group. She joined the firm in 1994.

Susan’s practice focuses on counseling clients on environmental matters, particularly brownfields redevelopment, contaminated site remediation and cost recovery.

Susan is well practiced in identifying and pursuing financing programs, grants and loans applicable to cleanups and to redevelopment projects. She has pursued numerous Redevelopment Agreements with the New Jersey Commerce, Economic Growth & Tourism Commission, and the N.J. DEP, under which our redeveloper clients have qualified for substantial reimbursements of cleanup costs.

Susan assists our clients in evaluating remedial options, and associated cleanup costs involved with environmental compliance. She provides due diligence counseling in evaluating environmental conditions and liabilities related to the acquisition and disposition of industrial and commercial real properties.

Susan also counsels clients on available avenues of environmental cost recovery, including general liability insurance.

She is a member of the American Bar Association, the New Jersey State Bar Association (including the Environmental Law Section), and Industrial Commercial Real Estate Women of New Jersey.

Susan graduated from Seton Hall University School of Law in 1994 and from Rutgers University in 1987. She was admitted to the New Jersey Bar in 1994 and the New York bar in 1998.

She has two sons and enjoys cooking and fitness activities.
